Braidwood Road, Catford
A bright and spacious master bedroom with an en-suite in Catford, South London
Here on Braidwood Road, we were presented with a classic Corbett-style loft space—one of the smaller layouts, but still full of potential. The brief was to create a bright and spacious master bedroom with an en-suite, maximising both light and functionality.
Transformed Light
To achieve this, we installed the essential Velux windows across the front roof pitch—two large windows in the bedroom and a smaller one in the stairwell. This not only flooded the new space with natural light but also transformed the lighting dynamic all the way down to the first-floor landing, breathing life into the previously dimmer areas of the home.
The ‘Wow’ Factor
At the rear, we added floor-to-ceiling sliding doors paired with a toughened glass Juliette balcony. This design choice delivers a ‘wow’ factor without the visual bulk or light obstruction that traditional French doors and railings can sometimes bring.
